At Funch we have developed recipes from some great traditional lunchbox snacks replacing typically unhealthy ingredients with healthier alternatives. We select and use a variety of natural, wholesome and nutritious ingredients to make sure your snacks are as healthy and delicious as they can be. That is our promise to you.

Naturally Sweetened
Here at Funch we work hard to avoid all refined highly processed sugars. We prefer our products to be naturally sweetened with ingredients such as honey, fruit, our homemade apple sauce and natural organic Stevia. These ingredients add a sweet depth of flavour to our baking that is simply delicious.
Fibre
We understand how important fibre is in your family’s diet, it’s vital for health, keeping bowels healthy and regulating appetite, which is great for maintaining energy levels. You will find fibre in our Funch products in the form of wholegrains (wholemeal flour and rolled oats), beans (black beans), nuts and seeds (sunflower seeds, pepitas and chia seeds) and dried fruit (dates, raisins and apricots).
Healthy Fats
Fats are essential for brain and nerve function, and it’s important to us that we include only the heart ‘healthy fats’ into our products. The right sort of fats are quickly converted into energy, fuelling the brain and body. At Funch we use naturally occurring saturated fats like coconut oil, shredded coconut and good healthy fats from nuts and seeds like chia, sunflower and pepitas.
Essential Vitamins and Minerals
We pack in as many vitamins and minerals as we possibly can into our Funch products, they are a crucial part of everyones eating plan - especially childrens. There are so many that it is impossible to name them but Calcium, Protein and Iron are top of our list.
Calcium, crucial for muscle development and strong healthy bones is found in chia seeds, raw cacao powder, oats and sunflower seeds.
Protein, found in black beans, chia seeds, eggs, pepitas, helps growing kids build and repair cells, enzymes and hormones and provides energy.
Iron is an essential nutrient that is needed to make haemoglobin, and carry oxygen around the blood for daily activity. Black beans, raisins, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds and raw cacao powder are Funchy ingredients that are all sources of iron.
Superfoods
These are nutrient-dense foods that pack large doses of anti-oxidants (substances that prevent or delay cell damage), vitamins and minerals. Here’s some of our favourites you’ll find in many of our products.
Chia Seeds: An ancient seed that has more Omega 3 and dietary fibre than any other food from nature and also great for digestion.
Goji Berries: Packed full of antioxidants and with 21 minerals, they boost immune function and are claimed as the most nutritionally dense food on Earth.
Raw Cacao Powder: made by cold pressing unroasted cocoa beans (very different to cocoa) is rich in minerals and essential nutrients for health and vitality, loaded with antioxidants, protects the nervous system and can also promote a sense of well-being.
Black Beans: Full of protein, heart healthy fibre, antioxidants and energy-boosting iron.
Oats: Full of fibre, a rich source of magnesium, potassium and phytonutrients.

Here at Funch we strive to ensure our home-baked products are preservative free. Wherever possible we avoid using them.
